The “Caretta Caretta” or “Loggerhead”  turtle’s mostlly live in the protected marinepark at the south of Zakynthos; the bay and beaches of Laganas, Kalamaki to Dafni and Gerakas. The greek government is doing it’s best to protect the loggerheads and their breading areas that affected by the many tourists.

We walked through the financial district on september 11th 2000. Exactly one year later – on the same day – the unimaginable happend and the twin tower where no longer there. When making pictures of the towers – lying on the ground – security personal asked us to move along…

This should have been the opportunity of a lifetime to see some whales. But… there were no whales around.
